On Monday, 17 February 2025, the SMCC Swimming Carnival made waves at Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre. This year’s event marked a historic milestone as it was the first-ever Kindy to Year 12 and co-ed swimming carnival at St Mary’s Cathedral College. The excitement was palpable, with both students and staff coming together to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship, competition, and school pride.
We were blessed with fantastic weather, setting the perfect stage for a day filled with energy and enthusiasm. Our students showed incredible passion, not only in the pool but also in the stands, cheering on their teammates. It was especially exciting to welcome our female students into the competition for the first time, adding another layer of excitement and camaraderie to the event.
An incredible moment was created as the first-place winners in each girls’ race had the unique honor of setting the very first record in their event – a memory that will surely be cherished for years to come.
At the end of the day, it was Moran House who triumphed, successfully defending their title and claiming victory in the 2025 Swimming Championships with a total of 552 points. Congratulations to Moran House for their outstanding achievement!
