We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.

St Mary’s Cathedral College’s is proud to announce the formation of the Parent Consultative Committee (PCC), formerly known as the Parents & Friends (P&F) Association. This new structure reflects our commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive partnership between families, the College, and the wider community.

A Vision of Partnership:

At St Mary’s Cathedral College, we believe that a student’s education is a three-way partnership between parents, staff, and the College community. Our vision is to support and extend every student to become the very best Cathedral student upon graduation—one who is academically, socially, and spiritually enriched. The PCC plays a crucial role in strengthening this partnership by providing a structured and meaningful forum for parent engagement and collaboration.

A Representative Voice for All Stages of Learning:

The PCC is made up of representatives across the Junior School, Middle School, and Senior School, ensuring that all stages of student learning are supported. This structure allows for diverse perspectives and meaningful input into College initiatives that impact students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

The PCC’s mission is to:

– Enhance cooperation, collaboration, and communication between families and the College.

– Foster a strong and supportive community where parents and educators work together to enrich students’ academic, social, and spiritual growth.

– Provide a platform for parent input into College initiatives and activities.

– Strengthen connections with the parish and wider community to support holistic student development.

The Parent Consultative Committee reflects St Mary’s evolving vision for parent engagement—moving towards a model that prioritises consultation, inclusivity, and shared decision-making across all stages of learning. By ensuring representation from all areas of the College, the PCC fosters stronger connections between families and the school, creating a unified approach to student success.
