Cathedral Choir
St Mary’s is a chorister school, with an internationally renowned Cathedral Choir. We offer emerging choristers a quality education in a high-performing environment, where music is embedded and students’ full potential is nurtured.
The choir is acknowledged as the oldest musical ensemble in Australia still in operation, with a history dating back to 1818. It is made up of College students aged 8-18 from different backgrounds across the Sydney region, who sing the principal services at St Mary’s Cathedral.
Students have the opportunity to audition to be a member of the Cathedral Choir with successful applicants eligible for an academic scholarship to St Mary’s Cathedral College.
The St Mary’s Cathedral choir performs locally and internationally, and choir students receive an unparalleled opportunity to grow their gifts.
